How to Set up Tarantula Enclosures?

Choose the right Enclosure

The size of the enclosure should be as per the size of your tarantula. You should place the enclosure at a quiet place in your house with minimal light. The enclosure should have a secure lid.

Substrate Selection

Select a material that is similar to their natural habitat, such as coconut coir, which is soft and absorbent.

Temperature and humidity

The tarantula enclosure should be kept at an optimum temperature by using:  Ceramic heaters undertank heaters or whole room heater.

Furnishing the Enclosures

The enclosure should have hideouts, objects to climb and rock to provide enriching environment to your tarantula.

Feeding and water

Gut loaded insects and worms should be given in the diet. There should be a shallow water dish for your tarantula

Cleaning and Maintenance

Spot cleaning the enclosure is required the day after feeding. A complete substrate change may be required after several months.
